Barbara D. (Dustin) Nielsen

Barbara Dustin Nielsen of Mansfield formerly of Harwich passed away on August 10, 2015. She was 89 years old. Barbara was born in Boston in 1926; daughter of the late Jeannette and George Dustin and widow of Frederick A. Nielsen.

She graduated from Mansfield High School and Boston University where she was a member of the Student Senate. She was the Past President of the Women’s Republican Club of North Easton and a member of the Lutheran Church of North Easton. She was active in the Boy Scouts and the American Red Cross. Her hobbies included gardening and traveling.

She leaves 2 children: Janet Sabella and her husband Mike of Taunton, Robert Gildersleeve and his wife Nancy of North Easton, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Allan Gildersleeve and Stephan Gildersleeve and sister of the late Marion Kelso.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, August 22, at 11 am in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 143 Lincoln St., North Easton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Burial will take place on Monday, September  14, in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Harwich.
