Mary Bruce Obituary

Mrs. Mary Alice (LaLiberte) Bruce entered into rest on September 14, 2018 at the Brockton Hospital following a brief illness. She was 98.  Daughter of the late Emery J. and Mary A. LaLiberte.

Mary was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, attended local schools and was a graduate of Brockton High School.  Prior to her retirement, she worked at the New England Telephone Company as a Telephone operator for 32 years. 

She was active in the following clubs:  The Mayflower Life Member Club, the Wednesday Fortnightly Club, the Browning Club of Easton and the Charity Guild.  Over the years she volunteered at the Boston School for the Deaf.  With her late husband, "Red" she delivered Meals-On-Wheels in the Brockton for 15 years. Mary was also involved in My Brother’s Keeper in Easton for many years.

Beloved wife of the late Ralph "Red" Bruce.  Devoted aunt of Robert LaLiberte and his wife, Therese of West Barnstable, MA; Nancy Many and her partner, Jesse Prince of Henderson, Nevada; Jean Gilrein and her husband James of Sandwich, MA; Patricia Symes and her husband, Michael of Wenham, MA; Joanne Havens and her husband, Andy of Fort Wayne, Indiana; David LaLiberte and his wife, Beth of Needham, MA; and Bruce Lancaster and his wife Carol Lynne of West Friendship, Maryland.  Sister of Lorraine MacLennon and her husband Bob of Annapolis, Maryland and the Late E. Joseph LaLiberte. She also leaves behind her 2 nieces; Maureen and Leslie MacLennon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday (September 24, 2018) at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, 103 North Main Street, West Bridgewater.  Interment will follow at the Furnace Village Cemetery, Easton.
