Nelson T. Coley

Nelson T. Coley formerly of Canton, CT passed away peacefully May 5th surrounded by this family. He was born in Milford, MA and graduated from St. Mary’s High School class of 1945. Following graduation, he attended Hart School of Music and had a career as a nightclub singer. In 1962, he moved to Canton, CT where he raised his family and lived for 50 years. He loved coaching baseball and closely supported high school and college team sports with his sons. He was known for his humor and warmth to his many friends throughout the county and state. Nelson was a salesman of construction supplies to builders and owned several companies. Upon retiring, his passions were playing golf, watching his beloved Red Sox and traveling the world.

He is predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Joan Nash Coley, and his son Stephen. He is survived by his two sons David and Eric, and his daughter Cathy Nelson and her husband Paul. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews as well as sister-in-law Nancy Clancy and her predeceased husband John, sister-in-law Millie Nash and her predeceased husband Harold F. Nash Jr., sister-in-law Debbie Lehto and her husband Rick and cousin Barbara Flannery and her predeceased husband the Honorable J. Harold Flannery Jr. He is also survived by several cousins throughout Rhode Island.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be announced.
