Thomas James Fitzgerald

Thomas J. Fitzgerald, Sr. of South Easton, formerly Dorchester and East Bridgewater, passed away peacefully at his home on November 5, 2018 at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Somerville on June 25, 1939 to the late Robert and Charlotte (Dzengeleski) Fitzgerald.

Beloved husband of Mary (Norton) Fitzgerald for 54 years; loving father of Kathleen and her partner Alicia, Thomas Jr., Mary Elizabeth, and Christina Fitzgerald; brother of Noreen Cotter; and cherished “Papa” to Brooke and her husband Rob Hewitt, Francis, and James Fitzgerald. 

Tom was a hard worker devoted to providing for his family. Even after retiring as a lineman from the New England Telephone Company, he continued to work until age 78. He began serving in the US Air Force in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1963. Tom loved traveling, playing the slots, crossword puzzles, fishing, and working in the backyard. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
