Herbert E. Voss Jr.

Herbert E. Voss Jr., age 81 of South Easton, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton. Herbert was the loving husband of 60 years to the late Jacqueline L. (Ippolito) Voss. He was born in Wareham on June 6, 1942 to the late Elizabeth P. (Matheson) and Herbert E. Voss Sr. Herbert was raised and educated in Wareham and has been a longtime resident of South Easton since 1969. Herbert loved trains. He was a Conductor for Amtrack for 37 years and retired in 2004. He worked on many trains including Con Rail, Penn Central and NY-New Haven just to name a few. Herbert was a life member of the United Transportation Union, a member of the National Association of Retired Veteran Railway Employees- Unit 32, the Southern New England Railroad Retirees Club and the Baseball Umpires Association.

He enjoyed anything and everything to do with trains, computers, golfing and spending time with his family.

Herbert is survived by his sons: Brian H. Voss, Duane A. Voss, and Gary R. Voss; his daughter: Kimberly R. Voss and his bonus daughter: Angelina Falzone. Herbert was the brother of Robert D. Voss, Carol Amirault and the late David W. Voss. He also leaves behind 10 cherished grandchildren and 3 wonderful great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Visitation will be held on Saturday April 6th 2024 from 10:30am to 12:00pm in the Southeast Funeral Home, 93 Center Street, North Easton Ma 02356. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home at 12:00pm. Burial will take place at South Easton Cemetery where Herbert will be reunited with his late wife Jacqueline.
