Inga Virginia “Ginny” was born in Mainbrook, Newfoundland on March 22, 1926, to the parents of the late Alfred and Mary Simms. She taught in the town school of Mainbrook, Newfoundland during her teenage years where she grew up. Ginny came to the United States in 1946 to the state of Massachusetts. She married the love of her life Robert Johnson in 1948 and had 3 children. Ginny had been a devoted member to Eastern Star in North Easton before joining the Brockton chapter. She had worked for the town of Easton school system in the cafeteria, manager at Oliver Ames High School before retirement.
Ginny was an avid gardener and loved to cook. Her quilting was revered by family and friends. Many of her quilting works were provided to the less fortunate around the world through church charities. She also had love of animals and birds of New England.
Predeceased by her parents, sister Charlotte Packard, brothers Leighton Simms, and George Simms.
Survived by her husband Robert L. Johnson Sr.
Son Robert L. Johnson Jr, and his wife Nancy, their son Andrew and his wife Lauren, 2 sons Hugo and Henry, daughter Rebecca Lewis and her husband Ken, their daughter Lillian, daughter Rachel Kline and her husband Josh.
Daughter Marcia C, Anderson and her husband Bruce.
Daughter Nancie Naves, and her daughter Elizabeth.
She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 5-8pm in the Southeast Funeral Home, 93 Center St. N. Easton Ma. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11am in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the South Easton Cemetery.
