Mildred Woodworth Obituary

Mildred “Millie” Woodworth, 95, of Easton, died peacefully at her home among loved ones this past Sunday, March 12, 2023, after a short illness.

Millie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Corinne Woodworth of Duxbury, her grandsons, Devin Woodworth and his partner Amanda, and Briton Woodworth and his wife Samantha, her great granddaughters Scarlett and Phoenix Woodworth and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country.

Millie was the daughter of Rocco and Anne Spagna of Avon, Massachusetts where she grew up on a farm with her nine brothers and sisters. She graduated from Avon High School after which she worked for the phone company. Later in her life she worked for Shaw’s supermarket from which she retired. After she retired, she volunteered at the Stonehill College Campus Ministry.

She was married to Arthur C. Woodworth of Easton from 1953 until Art’s death in 1998. Together they enjoyed a very active social life with their numerous friends, travelling and playing golf. They were longtime members of Pine Valley/Wedgewood Golf Club, and in later years, Millie joined and played at Pine Oaks Country Club with her brother Peter and her many friends there. She won a number of ladies’ club championships at both clubs, and, during her golf career she scored two holes in one.

Her passions throughout her life were spending time with her family members and friends and cooking Italian food for them. They will miss her warm hospitality and her loving smile.
