Ricardo Bernard passed away on the afternoon of Saturday September 10th at Mass General Hospital after a long bout with Guillain–barre (GBS) syndrome, and pneumonia that he didn’t overcome.
Ricardo, also known by friends as Rick and Ricky, was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on May 15, 1971, to Mother Gladys Ulysses and Father Phillius Bernard. Rick was raised by his beloved and departed grandmother Selina Bernard, until he emigrated to Boston Massachusetts in 1980 at 9yrs old. He attended the University of Massachusetts Boston and later transferred to Boston University in 1993 as a Pre-Med student. Ricky was a constant optimist and dreamed of achieving great success. He was a proud member of Big Brother Big Sister of America, and loved to mentor young children. Rick was a super fun person to be around, he was passionate about music and dancing, loved to laugh, enjoyed traveling, going to the movies and life in general. Ricky will especially be remembered for his bright smile and for being the eternal optimist.
Ricardo is survived by, his Ex-wife Winifred Bernard, his rock who regularly cared for him during his long battle with GBS, his daughter Kiannah, sons Jevon and Quentin Bernard, his parents, and multiple paternal and maternal siblings.
Services will be held at Southeast Funeral, 93 Center Street, North Easton, MA from on Friday September 23, 2022, from 10am to 12 pm. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
