Richard Gill Obituary

Richard A. Gill, 69, of Easton, Massachusetts, passed away at Brockton Hospital on Sunday, October 23rd, 2022, surrounded by his three sons. He was the husband of Katharine (Constantine) Gill for over 40 years, and father to Alexander, Robert, and Jonathan Gill – all of Easton, Massachusetts.

Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, to the late Stanley and Constance (DeCosta) Gill, and raised in Stoughton, Richard was a graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational-Technical High School and carried that knowledge into a long career in structural steel erection as co-owner of Industrial Steel Structures alongside his brother. He was a skilled welder and had a technical mind. Richard enjoyed working, spending time with friends, telling jokes and stories, putting smiles on people’s faces and watching his grandchildren grow.

Mr. Gill is survived by his wife Katharine, his three sons, and six grandchildren, (Payton, Juniper, Jackson, Ruby, Matthew, and Emma), all of whom he adored. He is also survived by his brother Stanley, and his wife Cheryl of Raynham, one aunt, and many nieces and nephews.

Richard passed as he had lived – on his own terms. He will be sorely missed by his wife, his children, and  of course his grandchildren - all of whom referred to him affectionately as their Grumpa.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the Southeast Funeral Home, 93 Center St., Easton from 4:00-7:00PM.  Burial will be at a later date.
