Valerie A. Kelly, age 87 of Easton, passed away on September 23, 2022 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late John A. Morris and Bertha R. (Saywell) Morris of the United Kingdom.
Valerie was born in London, England on January 14, 1935. In 1954, she married Thomas Kelly of Galway, Ireland and shortly thereafter, they moved to America to make their home. They initially began their life in Dorchester, moved on to Randolph and once they started their family, they settled in Easton where they met many friends who were like family to them. Valerie was a devoted wife and mother to their three children. Once the grandchildren came, she thoroughly enjoyed being part of their lives and activities.
Valerie began her apprenticeship in hairdressing as a teenager in London. She was very talented in the trade for over 50 years. She was a member of HUGS, an organization sponsored through the North Easton Police Department. She loved reading, gardening, knitting. painting and most especially, poetry.
Valerie was predeceased in life by her husband, the late Thomas Kelly and her only sibling, the late Windsor J. Morris of Kent, England. She leaves behind her dear children; Thomas J. Kelly, Jr. and his wife Carol, Tracy A. Goulet and Janet L. Kelly, all of Easton; four grandchildren; Thomas J. Kelly, III and his wife Meaghan, Lauren Kelly-Kuntz and her husband Chris, Sean Kelly and Mitchell Goulet; three great grandchildren; Karter Kuntz, Thomas J. Kelly, IV and Mary Kelly; her beloved sister-in-law, Mrs. Chris Morris and her dear niece; Diane Morris-Hart and her two nephews; Andrew and John Morris of Kent, England. Valerie had many friends and neighbors who loved her very much.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the Southeast Funeral Home, 93 Center St., Easton, MA. Burial will take place on Friday, October 7th at 10:00AM at the South Easton Cemetery on Washington St., next to the Stoneforge Restaurant and Queset Residences, across from Stonehill College. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
